So quick backstory, my Chapter 7 was discharged November 2017 but I didn't really start rebuilding seriously until about a month ago.
Today, I went into the CapitalOne pre-qualify page and to my surprise, I was prequalified for the QS1. Last time I checked was about a couple of weeks ago where I wasn't qualified for any of their products. I then bit the bullet and applied and was given an instant approval with $1,500 SL.
Now, my mind instantly went into the other things I've read from around here that CapOne would sometimes process apps as a single inquiry if done on the same day. And since I've really been eyeing the CapOne Walmart card (I do most of my shoppings at Walmart), I've decided to give that a try. After applying, I got the 7-10 business days message so I decided to call the backdoor number.
Basically, here's what they told me: they couldn't approve me for the Walmart card because there was another recent approval. So naturally, I thanked the agent and moved on. I'm thinking of trying my luck by calling another agent or maybe not. Eitherway, i'm happy with the result. New card added to my portfolio and so my rebuilding continues!
You can only apply for one core card in a 6 month period.
Congrats on the approval!
Congratulations on your approval!!

Yes, that's what I have been told. So i'm probably just going to try again in 6 months since I really want to get that card. The silver lining here is the agent told me there was no inquiry associated with the second application.
Congrats on your QS one approval! 👍🏻
