Previously burned Capital One when I was struggling with school finances about two years ago. Had been trying their prequalification page for the past few weeks just for fun, just today prequalification was returned with an offer for Platinum or QS1. Not wanting to bucket myself, I went with Platinum (and was accepted) with the hope of PCing to a regular QS later on. Super excited as this will be my first unsecured card in my rebuild!
Now trying to search for some data points regarding my Citi Secured, thinking this hard pull may have just shot myself in the foot for early graduation from Citi. I'm hoping not but I've read Citi can be sensitive even during normal times, I'm sure COVID-related worries don't help. Hopefully it's not a big deal!
Also considering ditching my Self secured card soon, my Self loan ended and the Self card doesn't have the option to graduate, it also has an AF. Not sure if I really need it anymore to be honest, would appreciate any thoughts you all might have on this as well!

Congrats on your approval, I'd have went with QS1 because it's a step up from the platinum card if your looking for rewards but has an an annual fee. Platinum card generally has no fee and high interest rate.
@Vector3D I think you made the right call going with the Platinum over the OS1. It seems to be pretty difficult getting out of that annual fee.
You should be able to PC to the QS using this upgrade link after your card's been open 91 days with no issue. I did the same earlier this year.
Also, congrats on your rebuild and your student loan rehab. I'm on a similar path, but jealous that you got your Discover secured card a month before I did. I'll look for your announcement in the graduation thread in a couple of months.

Congratulations on your Approval..

@quikj9 thank you so much for the link. Wasn't aware of this possibility. Took less than a minute to upgrade. ![]()
Congrats on the approval and good luck with the rebuild.

@Anonymous you're welcome. Glad I could help.

Grats on getting back in, you are bucketed with either of these.
