(For some Context, I declared BK7 and was discharged in May 2024. I burned CapitalOne in my BK7 for about $8,000)
So back in April 2025 I was pre-approved for the SavorOne card with Capitalone. They kept sending me emails and notifications on the app that I had a pre-approval offer. So I went ahead and applied, and was instantly approved for $750. I also have the Quicksilver Card that I opened in September of 2025 that was immediately bucketed with a $300 limit. (I mention this card for context). Then last month (August 2025), I got notifications again that I was Pre-Approved, but this time for the Savor for Good Credit, Quicksilver for Good Credit, VentureOne, and Platinum Card. I decided before I open ANOTHER Capitalone card, I wait for 12 months on my Quicksilver to see if I'd finally get approved for a CLI. Well 12 months just passed, and I'm still stuck at $300, which means it's "permanently"stuck at that limit.
However, at the same time my Quicksilver hit the 12 month mark, I was conveniently offered an "upgrade" on my SavorOne Card to product change it to a Quicksilver. So I decided yesterday on a whim, to apply for the Savor Card, and was INSTANTLY approved for $3,000. So now I've decided that I'm going to close my $300 quicksilver, product change my $750 SavorOne to a Quicksilver, instead of having 2 Savor Cards and "clean up" my profile. I know some people will say just sock drawer it, but Quicksilver isn't my oldest card since BK7 rebuild.
Capone is confusing with similar card names. If any of your cards have a fee, either pc or close them. the advantage of PC is no hp. If you need a card reporting good history, makes no difference what the limit is.
Did you request a cli? If so, what reason did they give? I had a qs that started at $2000. I got mostly $300 increases, but I didn't use it much. I pced to savior, which I use more.
Congrats on your approval!
During my rebuild I got a Venture One with a $3K SL. In 6 months, I got it up to $4500, and within 2 years it was $10K. So you can grow that new Savor as long as you use it.
My bucketed $0 AF Quicksilver still has 3 good uses (and therefore no need to close):
1. It increases my card count denominator for "number of cards reporting a balance" FICO scoring.
2. I leave it in the desk drawer for contingincies and handing over to a colleague for: forgotten wallet(s), office 'food runs' or celebratory bouquets and party cakes.
3. It is covered by a Dave Chappelle adhesive skin that says "USDA Food Coupon", which provides both security camouflage against casual pilfering and a chuckle to all ![]()
Congrats on your $3k Cap One Savor approval!
WOOHOO!! Congratulations on your Approval!!👏🏼🍾🥂
