New to the forums here.
I`ve been without any cards for about 8 years now, up until 2 weeks agoand I have really no records except for a closed card from 8 years ago and a couple of inquries.
I have to use my CK score of 674 because MyFico cant find anything on me.
After seeing recommendations on CK for Cap1, I used the Pre Qualify page on Capital One`s website, and was told that they could not find a match for me but suggested the Platinum MC.
So I took a chance, and got approved for $500! 24.99%
Man was I stoked! My first card in 8 years! Card Arrived quick too!
A few days later, I hesitantly applied for a Barclay Ring. I got the 7-10 day message so I guess I was denied. No letter yet though.
Then a couple of nights ago, I thought I give Chase a go.
I filled out the application for the Freedom card, hit the submit button, and closed my eyes.
When I opened my them, I found an approval for $3500! 13.99%
I almost crapped my pants LOL
Last night, I figured what oh well why not, the worst they can say is no.
I took a another chance and applied for Chase Slate (actually thought I was applying for Sapphire).
This time I hit sumbit and left the room.
When I came back I found that I was approved for $2400! 12.99%
The cool thing about it is that I got approved for both Chase cards with only 1 HP!
Tried Amazon Rewards after that, but got denied
In spite of that, things are finally turning around for me, and IM VERY GRATEFUL!
Congrats! You are goig to love the Chase Freedom card! I use it to pay my monthly myfico to keep some activity going in case I don't like any of the 5% categories for the quarter.

Congrats on your approvals!!! If you don't mind sharing, can you please post your scores??? I am aiming for those cards too in the future.
Thank you!
Actually, I dont know what my real scores are.
MyFico (I tried to pay), Quizzle, and Credit Sesame cant find anything on me.
But Credit Karma has me at 670 TU after the hard pulls, and Capital One has me at 728 TU.
Seems only have info on Transunion.
This is nice, congrats on your success
OP Thank you so much for posting this! I got up the courage to apply and was approved for the Chase Freedom! My first non-secured, non-store card, all on my own without being an authorized user!
What a great day...
