Chase Approvals

It's been over 2 years since I last applied for a card and was going to keep it that way but I kept getting e-mails from Chase about the CSR & Freedom Unlimited. I saw I had some "Just For You" offers on my online banking page and decided to take the hit!

I was nervous about it to say the least.

I got the Chase Sapphire Reserve & Freedom Unlimited! I applied about 5 days apart (should have done it the same day) but its okay! My TransUnion only shows 1 inquiry while my Experian shows 2.

Meanwhile I also got a CLI (soft pull) for my Citi Double Cash, Citi AA, & Discover. I don't use those cards as much but it's been a nice month so far!

Although I was reading some stuff about Chase closing accounts because of to many new accounts or credit line increases on other card accounts and it just made me super nervous about my new accounts with Chase! I hope someone here can relax my mind haha. I've been a Chase customer for the last 4 years though with an auto CLI in the past 2 years.

Re: Chase Approvals

Welcome to the forums OP and congratulations on the 2 Chase approvals.

Given recent threads/data points associated with AA closures using the 'double-dip' method (regardless of green checkmarks), I'd suggest keeping an eye on things for the next 30 days.

If you miraculously don't get AA from Chase, then great. However, if it happens, just a lesson learned and hopefully they'll let you keep one CC open.

Enjoy the new CC(s).

Ah okay thank you!

That makes me super nervous then! I didn't think much of it --- just wanted to add those 2 cards to my profile. Its been about 3 years actually (just checked) since my last new credit card. Smiley Frustrated

I have 2 other credit cards with Chase that have been open for close to 4 years now as well. I really hope nothing bad happens...
