Chase Hyatt approval/data point and question

I've been using my CSP heavily and wanted a CLI but remember being told better to app for a new product and reallocate credit.  Don't worry about 5/24 with this card.  21 ins on Equifqx, 19 on Experian with 9 new account in 12 months including 3 new Chase accounts.  Gave me 7-14 day message at application, called automated line within the hour and got 30 day message.  8 hours later card showed in online profile with 17K SL, same as Marriott card from March approval.

Question, am I safe to reallocate entire Marriott CL to CSP and close Marriot even though I opened it 5 months ago?  Thanks

Re: Chase Hyatt approval/data point and question

An initial question: how long have you had your CSP, and how long overall is your Chase relationship?

You mentioned you have 3 very new Chase accounts.

My initial thought would be to wait until you've had Hyatt for 2 or 3 months, re-allocate a portion of the credit line to it at that time, and wait until Marriott hits one year to close that card. Those are more conservative, gradual moves that may be better tolerated by Chase.

Your Marriott and Hyatt are too new. You risk potentially having Chase think you opened a card just to reallocate limits when you do it this soon, especially with the entire limit. More than one member on here has reported a problem (including being shut down by Chase) for trying this with accounts that are really new. Others may have a different opinion.

Also, if I were Chase, i'd be wondering - we just gave him a 17k limit on Hyatt and now he wants to move an entire large Marriott line over in addition on a brand new card? Just not a good idea.

Multiple rapid moves in quick succession are not always well tolerated in the credit world. Gradual and conservative usually ensures fewer problems.

Re: Chase Hyatt approval/data point and question

I've had Chase credit cards and auto loans for 15 years.  Had CSP for 3 years.  In March I closed BA card and moved limit to CSP which brought me to 41k.  Needed senior lending officer approval as it was over 35k.

I will take your advice and wait, I think you are right.  Thank you
