It’s been a good year, I started out in February by applying for 3 new cards (chase freedom 2.8K,AmexBCE 2.2K,DiscoverIt 2K) after 10 months of gardening and putting each card to good use (Sometimes carrying a balance but always paying off the previous month’s statement balance before I got a new statement)
I decided to open up a new card to charge my upcoming college semester expense at a 0% with no annual fees and I ended up with either Citi simplicity or Double Cash card I went ahead and applied for the double cash card because it met my needs like the simplicity but as a bonus I get cash back by trading off 3 months of intro APR I was vary nerves whether I would get approved because I have my chase freedom currently at 50% utilization (I would like to note my overall utilization was at 20%) after an intense waiting for the loading screen felt like 5 min I thought I was surely denied but finally it said I was approved for an initial credit line of 1,500 and listed of the reasons along with my EQ score I believe like a 730. After much happiness I got the courage to go ahead and ask for my 3x CLI for my Amex and instantly approved for 6,600. Now what I’m wondering is for anybody with experience on this if you could answer this question. Can I call Citi once my card comes in and ask for a CLI to match something like my Amex or other cards or somewhere in between and get approved? What about asking Discover for a CLI they gave me an Auto one a few months back went from 1.5K to 2K,
other side info for anyone that wants to apply for the citi card at time of applications my CS from CK was a 729 TU & a 783 Vantage score and a 738 FICO provied by Discover
Congrats!
Congratulations!
just went on a CLI spree called Discover and Bank of America both increased to 3K discover did a hard pull i think BoA only did a soft pull. also my BoA was a secured card went unsecured about 8 months back so i ask to do a PC to the Cash rewards card, everything was successful but I'm stuck with the annual fee from when i got the secured card anybody know a way to get around it with out opening a new account and closing the other?
congrats
