Applied for Discover It last weekend. Had me send them Proof of Address and Soc Sec Number. Checked app status and it kept showing they needed the documents even though I sent them hours ago so I started a chat and CSR verified that received them He then said they needed me to call in as well for additional information. I called and they asked where did I want my card to be sent (good sign) and for my mail and residence addresses and ti name a current credit card that I have. He then put me on hold and came back and said you are approved for 6k.
Later I went to the app site to check and found the following message:
Welcome! Soon you'll be getting cash rewards on everything you buy with your new card.
So watch for it in the mail - then activate it right away.
Your credit line is $6,000.
SL is kind of low compared to my other cards but you have to start somewhere so I am going to make it work for me. As the Godfather of soul would say "Open Up The Door I'll Get It Myself". They opened the door, I will do the rest.
Discover starts low usually. This is normal. They do grow though quite nicely. I would take it easy on the spend and PIF each month. This has grown my card 8X the opening limit in a year. CLI first 90 days are off limits unless you see an auto CLI which indicates that you can hit the button. From there on I would suggest hitting it every other month to maximize the reward.

Congratulations! That SL looks great! I only got $1000 to start. I hope it grows quickly for you though! ![]()
Congrats!
Congrats!
Congrats!! Welcome to the Discover family. I truly love my card and this company. And your SL will grow, or so I have heard, as many people on this forum grow their Discover cards exponentially.
Congrats, my Discover was one of the few cards that survived my divorce. I had $1500 limit, they dropped me to $1000.
I went to pay my bill today and saw they gave me another $1k.
So I guess they no longer see me as a risk.
Welcome aboard!
