Since this forum has been so valuable to my rebuild, I wanted to share that my Discover Secured card graduated the other day! Hopefully these data points will be helpful/give hope to someone else:
- Approved: April 2017
- Starting Limit: $500
- Starting FICO: 501
- Current FICO: 604
- Starting baddies: 9
- Current baddies: 8
- Total spend on card: ~$5,000
- Graduation CLI: $1,500 (new limit $2k)
- Gradution APR: 19.99% (started at 24.74%)
I graduated 3 days after my 16th statement cut (noticed CLI and ability to request CLI). I received the official email from Discover the day after that (timestamp was just after midnight). This is now my highest limit card, with my Capital One Quicksilver in second place at a $1k limit.
TIP: My APR wasn't reduced automatically. I hopped in to chat and specifically asked for it. The rep was happy lower it. While I always PIF before the statement cuts, I thought it may be helpful if I ever needed to carry a balance in the future.
