Odd. I actually carried a balance using the Extended Pay option on my PRG for over 10 months (I know, bad idea, interest was at 18%, yikes!), but I quickly paid it down. I didn't have a revolver with a CL large enough to put my vacation on. I was never denied a transaction and even still they gave me two lines of revolving credit after the fact. I believe it'sa YMMV, I've been happy with AMEX. I don't actually intend on carrying a balance on any of my AMEX cards, and I think it's a bit of a sad joke if they give you 25k in credit and expect you to PIF if you ever reach that. No doubt it would be a very foolish thing to do to get it the max so I can their rationale.
