Let me preface my post with a little background info: I am 25 years-old, a recent college graduate, and working in the real-world. Although this is my first registered post on the myFICO forums, I have lurked around on here for about 3 years. Historically, I have taken building my credit very slowly, starting with student loans, then an auto loan, and most recently, a couple credit cards. That being said, I am very thankful for the good support, advice and information that the users provide on this site as it has undoubtedly helped me on the road to building good credit.
I have two credit cards in my history. The first of which is a KU Alumni Association Visa through my local bank ($1500 CL) that I've had for about 4 years, as well as my Walmart store card ($1100 CL) which I've carried for around 2 years. Always carred small to medium balances, at times, but never missed a single payment and always pay on time. I've always been fairly timid when applying for new cards to limit my INQ, but this morning, my mind was blown!!
Last evening, I decided to take my chances and apply for a Discover it card. I got all the way through the process and had to submit further documentation to prove my address. I thought I was going to receive a denial soon after! I received a call from a friendly Discover rep this morning to further verify information on my CR and then surprisingly, she informed me I was approved with an initial CL of $6000!! Card is on the way in the mail and I couldn't be happier! Wow! ![]()
**Edit: I meant to post this in the CC Approvals Subforum, so if a mod could please move it, I'd appreciate it! Thanks!**

Congrats!!!!! The best thing about the card, is you get free TU FICO score. Auto-pay a bill on that puppy & then pay Discover on auto-pay, thru your bank. That way you'll get your score every month and see how you're progressing, without needing to buy anything extra.
congrats

Grats & welcome to the Discover family OP ![]()
