Just posting this for future folks that wonder about their pre-qualified mailers being trustworthy or not.
Received mailer for this Visa and thought no way will they approve me as I have read they are fairly conservative. Let it sit for 3 weeks and finally over the holiday weekend decided it was worth risking a HP to get in with that bank. Went online, input the codes from the letter and after 30 seconds or so came back instant approved. Couple hours later I checked app status and saw approved for $2500. Certainly not my highest limit card but good starting point for FNBO. Also got an email from them a day later confirming they have reviewed my application and approved it.
They pulled Experian which is only a 640 per Myfico.
I live in Ohio so I am well outside of their typical marketing footprint. For anyone that knows FNBO you'll understand why I mentioned that.
Hope this info helps somebody else.
FNBO tends to be good with auto credit limit increases. My cards are from pre-quals and I too am outside their marketing foot print. They have been very good on auto-clis. As has been stated, their customer service is tops and it is all based out of Omaha NE or Yankton SD.
That is interesting about you being outside their banking "footprint". I am as well, and like you, applied and was approved (for a secured card that unsecured later). It makes me wonder why they bother "limiting" their applications initally. I thought perhaps (at first) it was some legal thing (they were only approved for certain states), but clearly that isn't the case.
Congrats! Their cards aren't the "best", but their customer service is top notch.
Congrats
