I joined GE Credit Union on Tuesday of this week. Put $5 in a savings account. Later that night on Tuesday, I applied for a Visa Signature card and requested $10,000 on the application. Got a call from GE on Wednesday stating that they were unable to pull my EQ credit report. Rep said she would have to see if they could pull TU. I informed her that she needed to call EQ because there must be a certain method to pulling my EQ report because some creditors can get it and some can't. There's no lock or anything on it. Well I call GE today to check status and was told that application was approved for up to $15,000. The rep asked me if I wanted the 10k or the 15k. Naturally 15k. They were able to get my EQ report. I then applied for a 25k personal loan since they said they'll use the same EQ pull from the credit card application. They had my EQ score at 757. I have 39 EQ inq's. Pretty easy application process.

Thanks Joel. I only joined because I helped a friend join Penfed and she did a refinance to pay of GE and I went up with her to give them the payoff check from Penfed. Thought why not join since I'm here. They seem very focused on credit score thougth.

Yes they are if you don't have any bad marks on your reports they will let you have anything you want after the 1st year
for example back in the day most of my limits were from 500 to 4K and at the end my GE limit was 23K

Let's see if they go for this 25k personal loan. Should know within 24-48 hours. If they approve, I think I'll only take 10k to consolidate credit card bills

@Anonymous luck on the PL. I have been thinking about the same but with BBVA because they preapproved me for 35K @ 7.59% FOR 36 months or 10.09% for 72 months

That's sweet. Great APR for both but definitely that 72 months
Congrats on the approval, 12njoy!
I would kill (hyperbole) to join a credit union like NFCU. ![]()
I am curious: Are you going for 2 million CLs? ![]()
