Hawaiian Airlines WEMC BoH/Barclays $12k SL

Applied for the Hawaiian Airlines card sort of speculatively with the merger not being denied.  Found an offer of 70k miles for any purchase.  Instant approval for $12k.  Wanted a WEMC to add to my travel portfolio.

Congrats.  Suprised Barclay's approved you with 9/24.  Usually the rule is 6/24 with them maybe something changed recently with their UW guildelines.

I was 8/24 when i applied and i had closed my only other barclays card in April.

I was at 7/24 when I was approved for a Barclays AAdvantage Red WEMC in February '23 - slightly above their normal underwriting. That might have been why I needed to call underwriting to get the final approval.

I also see that the Hawaiian Airlines card is a combo Bank of Hawaii/Barclays card, and I wonder if that's a factor in its apparent leniency. (Without knowing more, my guess is that it's a BoH card that's serviced by Barclays, similar to how Elan/US Bank services other banks' cards.)

The Hawaiian  Air credit card is exactly BOH which is serviced by Barclay's bank.
