I applied Friday night in response to a pre-approved offer from Amex and I thought the screen came up that said I had been approved for a $500 SL when I experienced some sort of power surge causing my router and pc to re-boot. So far, I have NOT received an email from Amex, which I thought was strange. Usually I get an email after submitting an application. I'm wondering if they even pulled my credit because I didn't get a monitoring alert.
I'm thinking if the application didn't go in, I could still apply for the Amex Green as I thought it over, talked with some friends and they all agreed that the Green was a better starter card with Amex. I just don't want to get 2 HP's and possibly rejected for the Green. Some have suggested that Amex might have put me in "credit steps", something that Amex did not mention in the pre-approval. If that is the case, I wouldn't expect they would approve another card until the steps are complete. I would only be looking to apply for another card in the event they didn't get my first appliction. If they are getting my BCE ready to send, we'll just roll with that.
