I'm in need of some guidance.

First of all, this community is awesome!  I've been a long time lurker, and these forums have been so helpful!  I screwed my credit up in my early 20's.  I didn't really understand what I was doing, and didn't understand the severe consequenses of my outcome.  I'm sure some of you have been there before, and heard this before.

Just to give you some background on me, I got a FP credit card Nov 2012 ($300.00), then I got Credit One (400.00, then after one month a CLI of $550.00) in July of 2013, then I acquired the NFL Barclays card in September 13 (started out with $500.00, then bumped too $2000.00 in Feb), and in the same month got the Victoria Secret card through the online cart trick (starting limit $500.00).

In October I closed my FP account because that card is crazy, but it helped me get in with other cards.

I also have a school loan right now that is up too $6,600.00 but I talked to a rep today and I'm going to make payments to get it down.  Mandatory payments start in December 2015.

I called AMEX yesterday to try and apply for the Green charge card.  That was a no go.  I'm wondering if I should apply for the Discover it Card, or I should continue to wait.

I would like to replace my Credit One card because of the fees.  I also do not want to get a Capital One card.

My TU Fico score is 650, my FAKO EX 640 and I have no idea what Equifax is... I probably have 6 charge offs, and 3 paid collections.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read this, I appreciate it.

FYI School loans report as instalment loans and would not affect your revolving CCs utilization.  Amex likes to see more history than what you have here especially with negatives on report.  If you have not been apping to everyone in sight and racked up a bunch of inquiries I would wait till your oldest reporting card is 1.5 yrs old then go for more credit accounts.. Your oldest appears to be the FP you closed, it is still on record and will be for up to 10 yrs post close. I would also be working to resolve the negatives reporting.

Re: I'm in need of some guidance.

Well, I only have 1 hard pull on my TU, and none on the other 2.  Yesterday, was the first time I've apped (which was 6/7 months) ago from my Barclays.  Thank you for the Amex insight.

What does this mean Proportion of loan balances to loan amounts is too high?  They said that was one of the things affecting my score.  It also says that under the free barclays Fico score.

Re: I'm in need of some guidance.

Credit Addict:  The charge offs were with 2 Capital One cards, Citi, Chase (was WAMU), BOA, Macys, and a Dillards GRCB card.  3 of them went into collections, and I paid the collection agencies off.  The rest ended up unpaid.

They are suppose to fall off December of 2015.  I tried writting a goodwill letter to chase, but I would have to find the person who collected it and pay them was what I was told.

Yeah, but they didn't really recoginze anything for me.  Credit Karma recommended the Quicksilver card.

NO, If you don't get any offers directly at Capitalone.com why would you trust a website with a "suggestion" for credit you "may" qualify with in your score range.

try something like vitacost.com (it's comenity and I got it through shopping cart trick about 2 months after getting Express and shortly after HSN... now unlike the other shopping carts you have to go all the way through actually adding your own credit card and when I clicked continue that's when it popped up right before the final submit!
