So I have been rebuilding for quite some time. Slow and steady has been the ship. Over the last 6 months I have been sort of apping quite a bit. One thing I have been lusting for, is to get into the American Express door, and today it has been sucessfull!
I applied for the Blue Cash Everyday card with a SUB of $150 back. But was countered with a SL of $500 and no SUB. Since I took the HP already I decided to take it. This one I feel quite happy about. I've never banked with Amex, so it is nice being on the inside
Since I did not qualify for a SUB, will this mean I will qualify later on in the future, after I am in better credit shape?

Back to the garden...
Congrats!
Congrats on your approval.
A $500 starting limit is the lowest Amex will approve and often they will enroll you in their version of "credit steps" after which your credit limit is doubled after 6 months. Did you receive an email from Amex outlining the steps you need to take for the next 6 months in order for them to double your limit?

The only email I have received thus far was welcoming me to my new membership. Nothing regarding how to increase my limit. I have read thoughout the forum that it is possible to increase it through carrying a small balance and letting it post to the account. Then making at least the minimum payment. This was going to be my plan. I figured if I can prove myself to be more financially responsible than I was at 18, that the relationship would grow. *fingers crossed*
I really owe a lot to everyone here for the knowledge I've gained over the last 6 months.
