I was hoping to add another card in Nov, but the Apple card reported a $700 balance to Experian, apparently for the 2 days before it was paid off. So my score hasn't moved as I expected. Thankfully, atill relatively good at 8%. Will probably wait for a HP to hit a year in December so I can maybe pick up a few points.

This summer I ran the Apple card up to $500. Paid it off BEFORE the statement closed. That balance reported and stayed on my reports for 2 months. It disappeared when a new card hit my reports. Weird.
Congrats on your CLI!

Congrats on your cli!
Weird to hijack my own thread, but apped or the Amex BCP, and to my surprise, approved. Crazy small limit at $1K, but I'm willing to work in it every 61 days. I'm tempted to go back for the Green card too. I've read I have 30 days to mull it over before its another HP?
Goal now is to reach the SUP spend, then work on the CLI's. Mull over the HH Surpass for the travel benefits and lounge access.

American Express fairly frequently does an SP-only pull for existing customers when they apply for additional cards. Technically it's a different thing, I think, than what you are suggesting. Some lenders (not many) do merge HPs for CC applications in quick sucession, and CBs are supposed to merge HPs to support 'rate shopping' for certain types of consumer loans, like auto loans, mortgages, perhaps other types of installment loans, but American Express SPs for additional cards are not done on a time frame basis -- I'd say it's kind of a courtesy to existing customers, an Amex "SP special'. If they feel inclined to handle an additional card app that way, they don't care about the timing.
I have to hedge like crazy here because I don't know how that may apply in your situation. I would worry that the SP-only bit may be more likely for customers who have established a track record with them.
You might want to start a new thread to illicit more responses as regards the Amex questions here.

Yeah, I've decided to slow things down for a bit. Let some HPs fall off and some age to a year before going for one of the charge cards or maybe the Hilton Surpass. Also wondering what Wells Fargo will come out with next year, in the hopes that my history with them can bear some fruit.
I'm happy to get in with Amex, but am torn with whether I want to do points for travel, or hotel stays. I'm leaning toward hotels. No matter what, lounge access is a must. the 10 passes with the Hilton Surpass is a sweet spot, but I clearly need to continue with the research. Thoughts?

I think your way ahead of me as far as considering details of Amex travel credit products...Hilton Surpass sounds good to me.

Ha, thanks. But I'm still a noob with all this. I really wish I'd found this board 2yrs ago. Would have made some very different choices. Not the least of which was leveraging last summer's travel spend for some points/miles.
Regardless, after my little 3 cards app spree, I'm in the garden until at least next summer.
