Just got AMEX ED, CLI approved but left limit on the table

I just got my AMEX ED card today, I am excited to even have been approved (initial approval 3k). I have debated over the week if I should try an opening CLI or if I should wait, my main thinking is I don't want to try a CLI and get denied.  I activated the card (looks really cool by the way) and decided to take a look at the CLI request, it asks what you desire, thinking that the 3X CLI might be a little greedy given that my highest limit for a card where I am the primary is $750, I asked for 6k and thought for sure I would get denied but wow I was approved. I suspect if I would have asked for 9k I would have received it but that is fine.  It is my understanding that I can ask again in 91 days so I will hope to get to 18k at that time.  Thanks to everyone here for making it possible to go from a $300 CL cap one card to 6k AMEX ED in about a year.

Congratulations, both on the card and on the quick CLI.

You will have to wait 181 days, after the approval, to ask for another CLI. No problem, $6k is a great starting limit with an AMEX. 6 months gives you a good chance to show your worth.

After a denied CLI, then you would wait 91 days to ask again.

Good to know, got my 91 and 181 days mixed up.  If I can get 3x to 18k in 181 days I will be over the moon.
