Lowest limit yet, but at least I'm finally in.

The only two cards I don't have are a Capital One and a Citibank so I decided to go for the quicksilver one...approved with a $300 limit and $39 annual fee. Can anyone tell me if these graduate or limits increase? Should I attempt to recon once I get the card? Either for more funds or something?

On the other hand I'm really excited to have a Capital One card finally!

Do you still have the AF? Did you have to ask for the increase or was it automatic? Thanks for the info.

I got an email from Cap1 a month later after opening a QS card stating what my CL would be after 5 successful payments. You'll probably receive one to.

Grats on the Cap-1 and it will move up as you go thru the credit steps program.

Re: Lowest limit yet, but at least I'm finally in.

Congrats on your approval.

Back in 2009/2010 I was approved in their credit steps program. I believe I started with a $750 CL and after 6 months it was raised to $1750 (I may be a little off on those numbers, but it eventually went from $750 to $1,750 without me requesting a CLI).

They are a conservative lender but with certain people, they will grow. I never got a significant CLI because I did not use their card once I was approved for a Chase Student card with DW.

Re: Lowest limit yet, but at least I'm finally in.

Cap1 offers cards that satisfy various credit standards (Sub-par, average to excellent). The lower credit standards may be eligible for the credit step program. The higher level cards are issued as regular cards. QuicksilverOne is for lower level credit while the Quicksilver is for higher credit levels. The Venture is a higher level card. Also the World MasterCard or Visa Signature go with the higher level credit. The standards and related scores vary with the market as do underwriting standards. So what happened a year ago may be different today. Example, Cap1 has been granting CLIs and/or giving auto CLIs which has not been the case for many years.
