Re: Lowest limit yet, but at least I'm finally in.

Congrats on the approval, this is also one of my first cards when I started rebuilding (more like accepting my credit was not good).  I also started with a $300 CL but it is now at $1,000.  the increased were $300, $500, $1000.  I think I am due for another here after the statement cuts in a few days so i am eager to see if they'll maybe go $1000 highe this time.  It is a good card and the reward point do accumulate if you use it.  I accumulated $15 in like 9 mos and I do not even feel like I used it much.  A couple days ago I talked to them about graduating to the Visa Quicksilver bc it doesnt have an annual fee but it was a no go.  Maybe I just need to try harder LOL but im in the garden for a good while.  Take good care if it. it will grow with you

Re: Lowest limit yet, but at least I'm finally in.

So frustrated. She won't wave the fee. I'm frustrated. Either increase my limit or remove the annual fee.

Now chatting with a specialist. I may just cancel this card. It's almost insulting. They said that after 6 months I can get an increase to $500. Really? Is that supposed to be progress?

Re: Lowest limit yet, but at least I'm finally in.

I started out with 300.00 on one of my capital one cards and when I got my automatic increase after making my payments on time it was for $2,000.00!!! I was super excited!!!!!

The only two cards I don't have are a Capital One and a Citibank so I decided to go for the quicksilver one...approved with a $300 limit and $39 annual fee. Can anyone tell me if these graduate or limits increase? Should I attempt to recon once I get the card? Either for more funds or something?

On the other hand I'm really excited to have a Capital One card finally!

OP I'm sorry you were approved with such a low, limit to be honest with you, CAP one was a step backwards for you. They basicly cater to types of card holders, those that have bad credit and working their way back, and people with excellent credit. Since you were somewhere in the middle its really a waist of time to have their card. Your Freedom card is a much better to card to have, thanks to their 5% categories, and other added points rewards, the QuickSilver may net you a couple more dollars, but who needs a card that won't allow you to have a nice dinner out with a few friends and family without being maxed out.

If you manage to do the magic sequence of effects or perhaps by luck of the draw they may grow the card quickly in 6 months, but more often the case is the card may grow 600 or even $900 after 6 months. But in the end I would recommend closing the card before the next AF hits. My oldest card is a CapOne, it turned 5 years this month, it was part of the credit steps program and it grew from $500 approval ( no annual fee)  to $1000 after 6 months, and then $1500 after 3 more months back then the steps program was 2 stages not like the 1  step it is today. So after 5 years as a customer, with perfect payment record, not even a single day late on any credit card with them, they rewarded me with a $500 CLI to $2500. My other card with them sits at $750 CL, it is over 3 years old now still no increase. Even though they do like me they gave me product changes from the old platinum version to the quicksilver card this year, They just denied my latest CLI request on the $750 card,  both cards now have no annual fee, its been waived all of the years. Which is the only reason I keep them. See my signature line for what the rest of my CL's look like.

Re: Lowest limit yet, but at least I'm finally in.

So I finally put a complaint on facebook about this situation and was responded to by a rep there. He asked me to send my contact info to him in a private message and then said someone would get back to me. Few days later and still nothing so I sent the rep another note. He said they are still working on it, Then this afternoon I got a call from someone in the EO office, she's trying to get me a better limit with the underwriters and can definitely take care of the annual fee. She asked me to give her until Friday to hear something from her. Over all she was pleasant and as long as the fee gets waved I'm good. I told her I have credit, I don't need to pay for it, and if the annual fee stuck I was cancelling the card, She was quick to say the AF was NOT a problem to get rid of.

Things are looking up for this card. Will update you when I hear something.
