Merrick CLI Why?

Yesterday I had to make some purchases with my MB CC. They took me to 28% util on this card (easy to do with such a small CL.) This morning I received an email with a congrat CLI of $400.00.  Question is... is this a thing? Am I rewarded for pushing the util, or are they just being nice?

How long have you had the card, and what was the limit before the CLI? If it's 7 months and the limit was $400, this is standard with them. If not, they're being nice.

Not sure why they do what they do. I've had MB card for almost 4 years. It started at $1500 and got a bump about a year ago to $2300. I used it now and then, but not very much.

I'm beginning to think of closing this card. The only thing, for the most part, that gets put on it is my monthly Netflix bill, and their $3 monthly fee for the privilege of carrying their card. Not going to be any kind of grower.

I have had my MB since Dec of 13.

I got the initial 550 > 1100 after 5 or 6 months.

I got a 300 CLI in late 2014.

I just got a 400 CLI in Oct 15, so now up to 1800.

I'm going to keep it open for at least 6 more months, just because it isnt as bad as many of the other sub primes, even if I dont have them.  Doesnt make much sense even as I'm typing it, but keeping it for awhile because of the Oct CLI anyway.  Yes, I'm easy.
