Mini-App Spree

Well, I've had the itch for a new approval and decided to do some hunting around. We shop at Sam's Club frequently and I have seen the advert for their World Elite MC inside the store and at the filling station pumps. I finally decided to pull the trigger yesterday 12 May 2021 and received the anxiety riddled message about "we'll be in touch."

I don't care if I'm approved or denied, but I love the rush of a new approval. Hey, I need something since I don't drink and haven't smoked since 2013. LOL. Anyway, I phoned Synchrony's backdoor number for Sam's Club MC and got directly to someone, no vectoring or the like. She asked for some account information to which I was only able to provide the last four of my SSN. I politely informed her that I had submitted an application the day before and was in a holding pattern. She quickly found my information and told me that I had to be transferred over to the fraud department for additional processing.

I was transferred over and the agent was straight to the point: I have an active duty fraud alert that requires additional verification before extending credit. I have to be honest, I completely forgot that I had put that on all three of my reports last year. After some verfying information, a text message, and a 24 second hold, he came back and congratulated me on my approval of $6000. I know I could have asked for more while I had them on the line, but I'll just hold off on asking for 3-6 months before asking for a CLI.

I also applied with FNBO and was wondering if I shouldn't just ring them up to see if there were any additional questions I could answer for them before approval. I'm teetering on that and am eager to see what the FICO community has to say about that.

Finally, I am seriously considering pulling the trigger on the Citi Double Cash, but I'm a bit apprehensive. I'd love to hear what the community has to say about this one, too.

EDIT: @1511 MDT Applied for and was approved for the BOA Cash Rewards VS $17k! Way more than I anticipated.

Waiting on a decision from C1 for the Quicksilver pending document submission of ID and SSN verifications.

Grats on your Sams Club approval Smiley Happy

I would leave FNBO alone and let them do their thing, usually takes a week but it could be shorter. These guys use less known CRAs as well as one of the Big 3 on new apps.

Re: Mini-App Spree

I've read that in more than just the MyFICO forums... FNBO does not appreciate being rushed. LOL. I'll admit that I'm chomping at the bit, though. I have to agree that biding the time and exercising some patience will benefit me greatly.

Congrats on your Sam's Club World Elite MC approval . . . perhaps give FNBO a few days for a decision. Best wishes for your desired results.
