After getting the Amex CLI, upgrade and Gold, decided to do a couple others before going back to the garden.
BOA- Unlimited Rewards $1.5k SL (preferred rewards Gold member with them so 1.87% cash back)
Apple- $6k SL
Wells Fargo: got a needs review message, called and got "pending".
I want to get rid of my two secured cards. Citi $1k, BOA $1k. Both about 2 years old, have other older cards. Any harm to axing these?
Congratulations on your approvals!!
That's terrific!! Congratulations on your Approvals!! 🎉🥂👏
Congratulations on all your moves! Accounts with positive history stay on your credit report for 10 years (negative history accounts stay 7). As long as you are not using a lot of your available credit on your other cards you shouldn't see any major negative affects from closing them. You'll just lose the closed accounts' limits counting towards your available credit.

Grats on your new approvals ![]()
If your utlization is under control then no problem canceling the secureds
Citi and BOA might become unsecure eventually. If there is no AF it does not hurt to leave them alone age. I have 7 secured cards totaling $38k in limits. I closed most of the secured cards that has AF on them. I left the remaining cards open hoping they will become unsecure some day. US Bank / TD Bank/ Sable / Affinity / SDFCU. In your case if you dont need the money right way I would leave Citi and BOA secured cards in place. They will graduate one day.
Congrats on the approvals. Have you inquired with BoA about graduating your secured card?
Congratulations on your approvals!
