Oops i meant to post this in approvals. Sorry! If mod could move please ![]()
Navy finally throws me a bone...albeit a small bone.
I applied for the More Rewards card about 10 days ago and was denied. Submitted message asking why and finally today they answered saying that after looking at the application a second time they could approve me for...$500. It's gonna make getting that bonus a little challenging.
I wasn't expecting an approval from that message and I definitely wasn't expecting such a low limit though, so I'm equal parts happy and disappointed. At least it'll allow for me to use my secured cards less (Discover and Navy, each at $500) and finally, after several years, have an unsecured limit.
If anything I'm glad I didn't apply for predatory cards or get a load of store cards. I did expect my second Navy card to have a larger limit, though. I'll apply for cli in three months and the secured card I have with them will hopefully graduate next month (6th statement).
Current cards:
Disco secured $500 (Hopefully graduates in February)
Navy secured $500 ($200 deposit)
Cap1 secured $200(Waiting for 6th statement to see if limit will increase or maybe just close)
Navy More Rewards $500
Current FICO8 average of 657 between three bureaus
Tu9 694
Paid off last charge off this past summer.
It sounds like you're pretty well versed on NFCU's growth over time...
Congratulations on your approval today! Best of luck going forward!!!
Grats on the approval and just pay it off as you go to make the bonus.
Congrats!
Drop some cash into the Navy account, payments update immediately when you pay through their accounts. It'll help get you to the SUB. And in 90 days you should be a go for a 3x cli.
While not what you were expecting, you are making progress. Your credit is still thin, but I guarantee those cards will grow, with very little work. Follow @gdale6 advice.
Congratulations on your Navy Approval..
Awesome. Just keep rinsing. You will have that sub in no time.
Congrats !
Congrats on the new card. It's a great card. I had a $500 limit to start on that card too. In order to meet the SUB I would pay it from my Navy checking as soon as I made any charges. You don't even need to wait for the charges to post before you pay.
