I know I said I would be gardening until next year, but after hearing that NFCU only pulls TU, I couldn't resist. I opened an account and made a beeline to the credit card section. I skimmed through their offerings and set my sights on the Flagship Rewards Visa. Once I submitted my application I got the "24 hour review" message. Two hours later, the denial came. Needless to say, I was disappointed, so I sent a secure message asking why I was denied. Here is the exchange.
I took this message as an invitation to apply for another card. I did just that and applied for the Cash Rewards card. The results were:
Sure, it was another hard pull on my TU but the results were worth it. DP are EX 740, EQ 746, TU 706, AAoA 5 yrs, AoOA 26 yrs. My ego is still a little bruised about not getting the Flagship, but the approval for the cash rewards is definitely helping me get over it. And with that, it's back to gardening. For real this time...
WOO HOO! Congratulations on getting a concrete and positive answer, and successfully getting an approval with a nice SL. I was going to ask if they did another HP, but I see that they did. And yep, that can definitely dull the pain of not getting the Flagship.
Congrats!!!
Congrats on the CR VS approval! Bummer for the Flagship and dble HP. The CR will grow fast ![]()
Congrats on your NFCU CashReward approval and quick redemption!![]()
CONGRATS @OthTielo on your NFCU Cash Rewards card approval and the sweet SL - That's how it's done!!!
I also noticed this data point directly and convincingly disputes the "common knowledge" stating the only qualification difference between the Flagship and other NFCU cards is the $5K minimum SL.
Congrats OP on your new approval
Do you have to have an existing credit account with NFCU in order to be approved for their Flagship card?
