This (may) be my last application for awhile after being on a roll for the past few months.
I've been thinking about the NFCU Flagship Rewards and since the SUB went back up to 40K points in the spring, I decided to apply.
Approved!
SL $25K and lowest advertised APR of 14.99%!
SUB of 40K points (worth $400) after spending $4K in first 90 days; and a free year of Amazon Prime.
Thread Update 07/10/23:
NFCU approved my request to close and consolidate my $50K Platinum Visa account with my new Flagship Rewards account for a new CL of $75K.
Details in >Thread Message 21<.
That puts my total NFCU exposure at $75K (Platinum $50K + FSR $25K.)
NFCU is now my 5th largest overall lender behind Chase, BofA, AMEX, and CITI.
Single hard pull on TU. My FICO TU (08) is 847 and FICO TU (09) is 850.
One reason I applied now was that I hoping to be approved before my new Barclay's Aviator Red card shows up on my credit report. For new (personal) accounts, at time of application I was 3/6; 4/12; 5/24.
*My last five personal accounts: June 2023: Barclay's Aviator Red; March 2023: AMEX Hilton Surpass; March 2023: Chase IHG Rewards Premier; Oct 2022: CITI AAdvantage Executive; Nov 2021: AMEX Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant.
*This excludes (3) business card accounts I've opened in the past 12 months that do not report on my personal credit report: May 2023: AMEX Marriott Bonvoy Business; Feb 2023: Chase INK Unlimited; Sep 2022: AMEX Blue Business Plus: Sep 2022.
*TCL now $810K.
That bring my 65-day total since 05/03/23 to $103K in new credit. ![]()

Congrats!
I opened my Flagship in January and the SUB was only 30K at the time, which I achieved in no time and got my $300 SUB. I have since cashed in points for another $400, so year to date, I have recieved $700 in cash back from it by cashing in my points. It really is a great daily driver card, especially if you travel. Well worth the $49 annual fee.
That's an awesome run that you are on, @Aim_High. Congrats!
So is plan to move platinum to flagship and go for 80k on single card or keep platinum as well? BTW congrats on the approval for some reason thought you already were maxed with NFCU

Thanks @ForwardLooking! Yes, it's a good rewards card and the 40K SUB sweetens the deal for sure!
Thanks, @BigBS! Yes, this has been an awesome little streak I've been on lately. Feeling very grateful. ![]()
Thanks @CreditCuriosity! Yes, you read my mind.
I did max-out with NFCU on the $50K on the Platinum but that was the highest available on that card, of course. For a long time, I've considered consolidating limits with Navy on the FSR, back when such a thing was routine and easy to do. (I joined NFCU in Nov 2019.) The Platinum is a great low-rate card, but I've mainly used it just to build relationship with Navy, not out of need for carrying or transferring a balance, and I doubt that I will use it much in the future. It's a shame to have a card that isn't swiped and needs "maintenance charges." With my current lineup, FSR adds a small AF and doesn't really add to the rewards I get with other cards, but I wanted a large limit with NFCU. So it's a more useful card to me overall since it does at least pay 2% to 3% rewards.
While Navy doesn't "officially" allow CL consolidation any longer, I have a short-term plan for some very large BTs that I'm using as the excuse for moving limits. (I'm willing and ready to follow through on the BTs if needed, so it's not an empty excuse and I could prove it if needed.) I secure-messaged customer service after the FSR approval and am waiting on reply. If denied, I may eventually just CLD/close the Platinum to slowly move that limit over to FSR, although that could take a long time. But it would be another way to do it. I'll post about the outcome, but I believe some of our other members were successful with a similar approach.
I still think Platinum is a great card to have in reserve for consumers who may need to carry a balance sometimes, who may want to do balance transfers, or who don't have cash reserves to address their short-term emergency needs. My finances had changed to where I didn't see a need for it and I expect to have other options if I need to carry a balance, since several of my other lenders regularly have promotional offers.

GL and let me know how that request goes on limit consolodiation they should let it happen as exceptions are still made as you are aware of with them as had a few myself with them but a few years back. Platinum use to be a lot nicer when it was at 5.xx APR vs the 10.x it is at now due to interest rate hikes and likely a few more, so not losing anything really imho by getting a bigger limit for a small AF that can be offset by Prime, etc.
