Bravo !!! A big congratulation to you....everything you touch, becomes Gold !!!...Very happy for you, and I believe this is a new datapoint which we were not aware of it...like requesting for relocation of CL immediately to newly approved Credit card...otherwise, so far most people were not able to be successful into this unlike in the past...Its a very good dp...
On a personal note, I personally kinda reluctant to put all my CL into one account because if ever NFCU do accounting then I am not sure if they would slash out CL if people are not using it enough...or if something goes wrong in one account then whole CL in it will be affected...Its just my own concerns....however, I am not sure what I am gonna do....But I am very happy for you....Enjoy...-
Thanks very much, @Janneman, and I'm glad to share the data points for others to benefit.
I had heard of a few other members who succeeded in credit limit consolidation with the balance transfer logic, but I'm glad to validate it for the community.
While I've seen reports of a few selected lenders cutting credit limits on cards with insufficient usage, it's not something I've ever experienced, at least for that reason. (I did have lenders balance-chase a long time ago but that wasn't usage-related.) I've found that as long as I use my cards, my FICO is high, DTI is modest, and utilization is low that my lenders have normally allowed me to retain high credit limits without using a great majority of them. As for "if something happens" to this card, I've got others but that might be more of a concern if I did not. So I would say while both of those could be valid worries, it would depend on overall profile and card usage patterns.

@SouthJamaica wrote:Congratulations on the approval, and on your parlaying this and your platinum card into a $75k limit, which I know fits with your objective of having fewer accounts with larger individual limits.
Thanks @SouthJamaica!
And yes, that is an objective to have fewer accounts with larger limits, spread out among a variety of major lenders for diversification. I'm at a place where, if I chose to consolidate all CLs with each lender onto one card, reaching NFCU max exposure of $80K in six months with one more $5K increase, and one more good CLI of about $7.5K on my CITI AA Executive, I could have Chase Sapphire Reserve ($139.4K); BofA Premium Rewards ($99.9K), NFCU FSR ($80K), AMEX Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant ($75K), Discover ($52K), Barclay's Aviator Red ($50K), and CITI AAdvantage Executive ($50K*) for TCL of $546.3K on my largest (7) cards, average $78K+.
Not sure I will take it to that extreme but it's amazing to consider!
(*Full CITI CL consolidation isn't possible since they won't allow the Costco card to be product-changed or to combine limits.)
