Not really sure. I don't know what your relationship with them is or what your income is. Before I apped I moved one of my direct deposits over to them, and I also deposited over 10k in my NFCU accounts. I know a lot goes into their own internal scoring model, which takes into account the business you do with them.
@Anonymous wrote:Hello everyone I'm still kinda new trying to figure out how to navigate around,
I have couple questions as I joined nfcu 10/2019 been in rebuild I started with nrewards started with $200 limit then couple months later raided it to $2600 then couple months after that I maxed it out with $5,000 limit I have had the card almost 18 months all on time payments I think once or twice I carried Bal but other wise I pay statement in full every month, now in March 2021 I was approvied for Amex more rewards with SL OF $1,800 so when I asked the rep that helped me and asked why nrewards is still secure she stated that seeing that I was only approved for SL of $1,800 unsecured could be the reason cuz I have 5k limit on nrewards so I went and lowered my limit on nrewards down to $200 and I hope and pray it unsecures as on the 26th of April it will be one full statement with the new $200 limit on nrewards my question is if it don't unsecure should I close it and try for a second unsecured card and hope I have a higher SL but if nrewards does unsecure should I leave it or move limit to my Amex then close the new cash reward and reapply for card I think I did this backwards as second card usually yields higher SL I'm lost as to what I should do or once I hit 91/3 should I try for 3rd card then request a CLI on Amex any advice would be Awsome please and thank you

My Exp fico 8 was 597 on Dec.26 not sure what the others were. Today TU 655, EQ 668, EX 687
I got 4 crappy builder cards in the past year with crazy fees, but I kept them up. I am former military so I joined NFCU 2 months ago, I was at 90% utilization when I joined, and my scores were 615-627 when I joined. I held off on the app.
I was planning to wait a little longer, I got ticked off at one of my cards this morning and pulled the trigger on NFCU and got a Cash Rewards Card with a 15k limit. I have late pays and 1 derog. Totally shocked.🥳Congratulations on your approval and awesome $15K SL! Sweet SL!🎉🎉 That's awesome! 😎😎
Pardon, if I may, around how much is your annual income, please? 🙏🏻
Welcome to the Forum. 🙏🏻🥳
My personal income is 75k, they allowed me to use household income which is 175k'
My internal score with nfcu is 269/450, and I've ran through prolly 100k with direct deposit, and cash deposit etc took a secured loan of $1000 for 13 months got 2 months left till it's paid off and been with navy almost 2 years
Congratulations on the approval! I bet your glad the other card company ticked you off, lol! 🙂

Ha .....so glad. It was First Access by the way. They are the absolute worst.

First off congrats. Second this gives me hopes. I just joined nfcu via roomate, and my scores seem to be in range of yours. I do still plan on waiting till month 3 of my account to apply for any of their cards. But knowing someone has a similar credit report and scores to mines and knowing nfcu is still willing to lend to them really makes me excited.
Now i know this may not be the case for everyone but to know there is a chance does wonders for the moral.
That’s terrific @Nikita2008 ! Congratulations on your outstanding new NFCU approval!! 👏🏼🎉🍾

Threat them right and they will take care of you. I posted that back in mid April. I waited out the 90 days, and applied for a second card ( Flagship Rewards), I had an instant approval with 24k limit.
