Navy Federal Platinum approval with successful limit reallocation and Amex Gold approval

I was thinking that I wanted a 0% intro card to transfer about $5000 to and I remembered Navy has no balance transfer fees. I was concerned I'd be hit with a denial or low limit since they already have extended me a little over half my income.

Most of what I read on here was people saying they don't do limit reallocation anymore. A month or so ago, I asked about it in secure message and they basically said they couldn't answer my question until I had applied.

At first, things didn't go well. Approved for Navy's platinum at 1k. I called. I was at the max internal limit. I then asked about limit reallocation. The CSR said he knew they usually don't do that anymore and put me on hold to run my request up to a supervisor. A few minutes later, he came back and said that yes they would allow me to move limits between cards.

I moved 17000 from cash rewards to the new platinum to transfer around 5000 without going above 30% individual utilization. A bit of preparation and a bit of gambling on which myFICO side was right. So as of 2 days ago, they do still reallocate limits on a case by case basis. A low limit due to max exposure appears to be one of those cases when it comes to balance transfers.

Amex had recently offered me a personal loan so I checked and I was preapproved for every card. I settled on the Hilton honors surpass card. I got the pop up about no bonus so I canceled. My second pick was the Amex gold card. Approved with no popup. Does this mean that I will get the bonus or should I call to confirm?

I apologize for the novel but pending a confirmation on the Amex gold sub, I got everything I planned for/wanted in this mini spree. I had planned on a mortgage this year, but changes in my personal life and of course the recent... global/national issues made that not realistic.

DPs:

-EX8: 755 (provided in Amex approval pdfs)

-TU9: 759 according to myFICO and Navy a couple weeks ago when they refreshed.

-Util: 6%

-DTI: 26% on paper. 19-20% including bonuses and 1099 stuff that I don't include on credit applications in case of income verification. I'm salary for my primary income. It's just simpler to claim that.

-15/24, 8/12, 0/6

-Used car loan opened 01/2021.

Extra specific DPs:

-Navy fed member since 2008 but was dormant for 9 years. They used to be and now are my primary financial institution.

-Amex BCP opened as first account with them 12/2020. Received sub and still actively using card.
-Amex Platinum opened 9/2021. Received sub and still actively using card.

Very extra specific DPs:

-No cash advances ever in my life. They are heavily advertised but Transunion credit reports show alternative credit data mentioning cash advances so I figure it might be an issue for some lenders.

-Last month I payed off $4000 balance on a private student loan with variable rate. The prime rate is going up as I'm sure almost everyone visiting a financial forum knows.

Thanks all. Venmo also finally added the CLI button and bumped from $500-1000 limit. I was only using it for utilities and still making more than one payment a month. It's more convenient now.

@Duriel   That's a new DP AFAIK.. Pop-up on the Hilton and not on the Gold.

I'd call and confirm since there may not be any other way to know if you've got a welcome bonus to spend for. It'd be a drag to meet the reqs. for the bonus and find out it's not going to happen.
