Congrats on your Ollo CLI 👍🏼

I keep waiting for CK to show me an Ollo invite, but it's always just Oportun, Destiny, Indigo and OpenSky.

Re: OLLO Rewards Finally CLI

It's a nice card. I just wish that they were a lot looser with CLIs, but I've had no problem with them personally besides that. Certainly a lot better to have than your typical Credit One cards. Congrats!

Re: OLLO Rewards Finally CLI

I received a invite on experience, for the card about 5 months ago. Only have a $500 SL, too low for my taste. If I don't get a CLI soon, I will close the card next year. It's a good starter card, not predatory.

Re: OLLO Rewards Finally CLI

Dude!  Love your sense of humor!  Maybe, because mine is pretty much on-par with yours!

Baby - cheeseburger?  Dang it!  I just ate and now I would love to sink my teeth into a cheeseburger (maybe throw some bacon on that bad boy, too?  yes, sir!)!  LOL.  Thank God I am a fitness and nutrition guy, so I will not listen to my brain (or the little white angel | red devil sitting on either shoulder, having that conversation about why a cheeseburger - with bacon - is or is not a good idea right now).

I had a Credit One card for nearly a year.  It was a strategic move on my part.  I closed it before the beginning of Y2 was to hit to avoid the Annual Fee.

For those of you who do not know, Credit One (which really tries to mimmic Capital One, IMHO) does several things that are not "usual":

1.  They have a wierd way of collecting the AF (they bill you 1/12 of it each month)

2.  They have no "grace period" (read: when you purchase something, as soon as that charge hits your statement, Credit One starts to bill Interest associated with said charge)

3.  They are VERY TIGHT with CLIs

4.  Their Customer Service is questionable (I will leave it at that....I did not have good experiences with them.  But that is me)

5.  It takes a long time for payments to post (three or four business days...where as payments to other credit cards hit the next day....same bank account in use for all)

6.  It takes several days - from the day that your payment does post to Credit One - for that to reflext in your Available Credit.

They are good for those of us rebuilding AS LONG AS you are aware of these practices.  I knew about these practices, went with them, made good use of their cc, and then closed the account right before their one-year anniversary.  I did speak with the Customer Service, who then transferred me over to another department (can not recall what that department was called).  I had a very nice conversation with this gentleman, who offered lots of things to keep me.  None of it really interested me, though, in that the guarantee of the AF going away or being under $25 was unavailable (and I appreciate his honesty there).  He was also willing to reduce the APR - which was of no interest to me in that as soon as I purchased something I was on top of said charge appearing so that I could IMMEDIATELY make a payment (which is not really "Credit Card" behavior, it is more "Debt Card" behavior).  There were a few other things.  But none of the things that I wanted.  So, I closed.  Again, this gentleman was very professional and most kind (unlike - in my experiences - the CSRs you get when you call in).

I always say YMMV with different things.  So, while I did not have the 'most bestest' experience with Credit One, I did specifically go to them with intent and after what I was trying to accomplish got done I cancelled.  I am grateful to Credit One for the 11 on-time payments.  And, I would suggest them to those of us in a rebuilding phase AS LONG AS you are aware of and cool with the conditions I outlined above.

Anyway, I kinda sorta hijecked your post.  Sorry, @FLLGuy .  NICE JOB on the CLI.

LOL !!!!! LOL !!!!  Oh man, totally forgot about cherry-topping that cow baby cheese burger with a "LiL-Swine" ---- good looking out.  Besides in your physical endeavors I'm sure you can burn off that short lived burger sin. Smiley Very Happy

I was cracking up reading your post, glad you chimmed in and provided your insight, no high-jacking here we're all in pursuit of the same so it's all good and welcomed.  I do agree with you on "Credit One" - I also have their platinum card and I'm not knocking their business as lord knows it's served me well despite the AF.  I had to force myself in thinking during my 5yr BK 13 marathon that AF's and Secured deposits are the costs associated getting myself back on credit track.  Funny during my first 3yrs in BK the worst credit predators never sent me an invite to join their credit clubs, deep down i was begging for a bone be thrown my way.  That all changed 2mos after my 3rd yr - I app'd for "OLLO Rewards, Credit One, and Overstock".  Wish I would've made a better choice about Overstock but I forgot this community existed.  Nonetheless, i'm good at slow-and-steady. I'll keep my OllO and retire Credit One after I close on my mortgage in the next few months, it's served its purpose like Aloe cream on a bad sun burn.  Smiley LOLSmiley Very Happy
