Overstock.com Approval and CLI!

So reading another post from another member, they mentioned a shopping cart trick. To this day, I haven't been able to be successfull, probably because I was doing it all wrong. So here is the breakdown of exactly what I did.

1.) Added an iPhone 6 to my cart

2.) Went to the checkout screen, entered all my pertinent information (Name, Address, etc..)

...and BOOM!

Got a pop-up window that said I was "Pre-approved for Overstock.com" message. I was hesitant at first since I was trying to garden ...but I'm a sucker and applied.

I got approved for a SL of $250, woohoo!! ...not

I called the backdoor number and I asked for $3k. They were not able to approve me for $3k but countered with $1800, which i gladly accepted.

Hope this helps anyone else looking to open an Overstock account and/or bump up some avail credit.

Wow, I hit the luv button after my approval this morning and got the 7-10... my SL was only $250 too. Not enough to buy what I wanted but I took it for what it was. I wonder if I'd have a shot at an increase if I called? What did you say to them?

i did the same thing! When I requested a CLI through the luv button, I got the 7-10 day message. I just told them that I have other cards in the $2k+ range and would like this cards limit to be closer to my other cards. I told him I would eventually like to purchase something..I told him $250 was my lowest card and was looking for $3k, countered with $1.8k and I took it..

Congrats - I had the same pop up yesterday on Overstock.  Approved for $500 - asked for a CLI, but got the 7-10 day letter thing.

I haven't tried myself after my own approval but it's widely discussed that some are getting much higher starting lines if they call in and place their requests for one.

I wish I was 'instantly' approved for the initial amount of $1800, would have helped my credit worthiness ego

A 600% CLI is also a nice confidence boost in my CR...can't wait for 3x CO to drop in 2016
