After reading a few threads here I kinda pulled the trigger on the Sallie Mae World MasterCard and got the dreadful 7-10 business day response. I think I may have messed up my application. I recently moved and due to my poor judgement at 2am I filled out the new address. In addition to filling out an address that probably has to yet show up on my credit reports, I think since I was mortgage shopping I may have had "too many" entries on my report. The last I counted I had 5 inquiries since July this year on TU and all of them are mortgage related. I don't think 5 is excessive, I think it's the address. My TU FAKO is 749 (used to be 777 but dropped due to the inquiries).
What do you guys think? How do I get a recon? Any tips? The backdoor numbers listed in this thread seem to be for sallie mae visa and even then they dont seem to be functional - http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Card-Applications/Backdoor-Numbers/td-p/408066 Is it possible for a recon? What number do I call?

You should definitely recon. I made the same mistake when I applied for the CSP. I filled out the app with my new address which had yet to appear on my credit report. So when I called they said they just wanted to ask me a few questionis. They asked me about 3-5 questions about my credit history that only I would know. I got them all right and they instantly approved me right over the phone.
Since you're dealing with Barclays it may be a bit different, but it's possible all that they wanna do is verify it's you since, like you said, this new address isn't on your report yet.
Best of luck!

You got to call Barclays back door number . They are fairly good at recon. I have around 18 Inqs on my TU and they approved me for the NFL extra points card

Recon 4 times if you have to. That's the Nixon Sallie Mae Trick.

Wait until they give you the letter stating why you failed. It will usually give a couple specific reasons. It should also provide a phone number for you to call if you want to recon with them. If it really is something as simple as the change in address, you'll be fine once it is explained. I suspect that it has more to do with the HPs, but either way, it shouldn't be too hard to clear things up.
Good luck with your reconning!

You don't have to wait for any letter... call them tomorrow.
They are quick to answer and very helpful... I've never had to recon but I did move my Apple limit to Sallie Mae when I opened the account and they were great.
Let us know how it goes...

+1 Definitely worth a try - you already took the HP. Explain the recent move and reason for high inqs. Good luck!!
Ecocredit,
Call this Barclay's 24/7 underwriting # 866-951-1437 right now. Just called about 30 minutes ago and was asked a few questions and approved for Sallie Mae World Mastercard after transferring $2500 from my NFL World Mastercard to open the Sallie Mae. It was quick and painless, good luck and let us know how it go.
Already received my approval email!
