Sallie Mae Initial Limit Recon? - SUCCESS

So I applied and was approved for the Sallie Mae World MasterCard last night with a starting limit of $1.8k. Has anyone had any success reconning their starting limit? Did Barclay want to do another HP or were they able to use the same one?

Not sure since I've never had a card with them but definitely try recon and see what they want. I don't think there's any HP involved.

Barclay's is very recon friendly.  I successfully reconned my Arrival initial CL, and unsuccessfully reconned my Sallie Mae initial CL.  I don't believe it was anything to do w Arrival vs. Sallie Mae, but looking at total credit extended by Barclays.

Great! I will call them tomorrow when I get a chance! Any advice on what to ask for? Is it a shoot for the sky and get countered like BofA? Or should I keep it modest?

ask for a reconsideration on the credit limit. it will be a SP and they can use the same HP up to 30 days of the initial app.

shoot for the sky and say youll accept a lower limit.

Denied on my first recon attempt. Says the limit they gave me is right in line with my other limits. (My BofA 10k limit isn't reporting yet). I'll give it another short after I get off work.

Congrats! Reconned for my starting Sallie Mae limit from $3300 to $10K and they used the hard inquiry on record. Also they issue Sallie Mae Platinum Master Cards for initial credit lines of less than $5000.

Don't give up or throw the towel in right away. Having said this I was able to get them to double my Sallie Mae from 2500 to 5k without issue. Recon of limits ends up often being talking/getting to the right person.
