Sallie Mae Initial Limit Recon? - SUCCESS

I, too, had a successful initial CL recon with Barclay.  Computer spit out 2.5K on a Saturday.  Called first thing Monday morning and spoke with the nicest UW'er known to man.  Used they same HP with no fresh SP that I could find.  Three minute call and she doubled it to 5K.  Easiest recon ever.  She was also the nicest individual I've ever spoken to at ANY financial institution!

Basically I called that number to recon and was approved for a higher limit with a soft pull. When the analyst asks what you want your limit to be, say the maximum I'm qualified for instead of giving a number. Maybe you will be approved for an even higher CL than you think.

My initial CL was 3.5k that I opened on 9/18.  I *just* called and talked to a rep and veified it would only be a SP due to being less than 30 days - they did inform me a HP would be required after 30 days.  Anyway, I asked for the CL to be 10k and they went to 5k.  They cited three new accounts as the reason and referenced a new citi account being at 9.5k.  They asked why so many new accounts - I informed them I had opened around 7 new accounts.  The reason stated was because I only had a few that were closed and 1 that I was an AU on.  In short, that I needed to build up my file.  They were not seeing the 6 additional, but they did see 3.  Honestly, I am surprised they went up at all with the next activity.

Don't give up or throw the towel in right away. Having said this I was able to get them to double my Sallie Mae from 2500 to 5k without issue. Recon of limits ends up often being talking/getting to the right person.

I applied, and got $3000. Then I used the CLI button online and requested $8000 and got the 7-10 message. They raised it to $8000 the next day. They did do another HP but this time from EX.
