Service CU Visa Everyday Approved

Well, my time in the Garden lasted a few short days... This time around, Service CU emailed this morning clearly wanting me to take out some form of loan with them.  Supposedly, I'm pre-approved for pretty much every kind of loan except a mortgage 🤣  I'm shocked anyone is offering me anything since I'm not quite a month out from my mini-spree!  The button in my account was "Accept" and not "Apply" if that helps anyone.  Anyway, apparently I'm a sucker for credit card pre-approvals.  I was pre-approved with them for $10k at 10.15% for their Visa Everyday.  Not sure which bureau they pulled, but it showed up as an inquiry right away in Chase Credit Journey.  They actually approved me for a higher $12,700 limit without me asking for it!

They did annoyingly automatically include one of those pay my balance if I die or get disabled insurance things, so I'm going to need to cancel that soon.

This card has a 6 month 0% offer that includes purchases, balance transfers, and Cash advances! I think advances are usually excluded from those promotions so that's interesting.  They do have a 1% fee for balance transfers and cash advances.  But with 6 months at 0% for all those, I have some partly formed ideas I might try out.  I promise I'm definitely off to garden now as long as no one else dangles a pre-approval in front of me 😅

Congrat.... Fantastic SL given the fact you have had a mini spree so recent. Were you already a member with this CU, or joined them only now when you applied? How to join them, and their membership is SP ir HP?

Do you think you could stay in gardern given you are a sucker for a pre-approval for credit cards?? lols

I have been a member for a few months.  I joined for their 5% APY on $500 savings account.  I put the $500 in for that pretty much right away and that was about the extent of my business with them till now.  I joined by becoming a member of the American Consumer Concil, which is free.  https://servicecu.org/about-us/become-a-member/

I think membership was just a soft pull.

I have 2 low-rate cards now to round things out.  Unless Affinity FCU sends a pre-approval for their unicorn card my way soon, it should be a while before I apply for more cards, maybe 😅

Congratulations on your Service CU approval!

If you got an alert in Chase Credit Journey, it sounds like they pulled Experian at a minimum.

Congrats. I'm not a fan of this CU, my card never works, they gave me a 1k limit after I was going to close the account . Funny they just sent me a letter with a 0% 12 month apr offer on bts. Lol what can I do with that limit. Anything I apply with them gets denied I'll probably write a letter to close membership. Anyhow don't want to rain on your parade, that's still a great offer. Like any CU, some will win others will lose. Hope you are winnerSmiley Happy

Re: Service CU Visa Everyday Approved

Mazel Tov @DakotaM , its always a great start when you get a soft pull offer. I had something like that happen to me with a CU in Iowa. Ive seen a few other data points with similar circumstances. Enjoy your new card!
