Mom applied today Instant approval for 11.5K. Attempted to go higher and agent stated that application was only premlinary approval. Never seen or heard that before for a credit card. Any ideas why online it says approved but they have a prelimnary approval.

Underwriter says that she will have to wait until receives card to request credit limit increase. System gave max at that time. Application was fully approved and processed today. Will update once card comes and request limit increase.
