Not if you pay your bill on time!
Which stresses the absolute importance of staying on top of those accounts 24/7 ESPECIALLY as you are building up.
It's been repeated so many time times in here but the reason is still crystal clear but simple. Credit is a marathon not a race.
I can't count all the times that I was ready to throw up my hands and just move on without synchrony, but after reading and reading and studying this forum fiercely each and every day it finally put things in focus and before I knew it Lo and Behold I was in a state of shock the way Synchrony Bank finally came through.
First the long and seemless never ending wait for months, and then the joy of those first SP CLI's etc. But eventually that day comes for you when you realize it was worth all the waiting after all.
Everyone has their own manner in trying to speed things up with them (or any bank for that matter) when your scores are not yet optimal to expectations or just a thin file, but what bank doesn't like it when THEY are making some profit.
I've had the same experience with both my Walmart and Amazon requesting CLI (don't want to use them, just trying to get them to help my utilization score) and I'd keep getting denied then all of the sudden they each start giving me little increases at random times. I dumped my Merrick card about a year ago even though it was my oldest card I couldn't stand paying that $4 a month charge each and every month for a card I wasn't using. It did help me get a couple of other cards that gave me much more generous limits though.

Thank You for sharing. Perhaps your own experience can help with the OP's confidence with this.
And this is EXACTLY how it is with them. What also helps with this DELAY is focusing on your other cards but keep them active with usage and payments (preferably PIF) monthly without fail.
Don't ignore them and not use it and i'll tell you why.
I also went through that same thing with my first Synchrony experience, the Walmart Card. After some months every single time I try they said no and it was from calling Credit Solutions. I still used the card monthly and made payments to full.
Then one day I see they finally increased my credit limit for $150.00. Seemed everyone else was getting nice increases in about the same amount of time but this was the best they could do? Yes I was peeved BUT I kept at it and in another 4 month statement cut I requested a CLI and it was approved and for much more than that 150 dollars.
Not only that but when you see them bump your line is usually a very good time to apply for another one of their cards.
At some point when you get approved for their Bankcard's like an Ebates, PayPalExtras MC, or Sams Club etc. THAT's when you know that you've arrived with them and they will become very generous.
Just make sure that you rotate to use at least one of their cards every month to keep them busy and you will be thrilled ![]()
Hope some of this might be useful for you.

+1 I will never, ever, ever pay anything late that has credit reporting (car, cards, etc). I'm currently rehabbing student loans and am thankful that as a ton of lates (90s and 120s) will drop off in December. This is huge for me!
I also got a paltry $1500 limit while I have all my other (non-store) cards around 3-10K SP. No way to get a CLI yet, I asked twice (just after opening, and after first statement) and got a firm 'no'.
I'll just wait it out til the 3rd and 6th statement and then see. No rush, though a bit bothersome that I had to put some serious Amazon shopping on my Discover.
Ah perspective. As someone whose store cards start at $250 limit and end at $1300 (Target)...I wish I had some $1,500 limits!!!

LOL, yes perspective.
However, I read through this entire thread and you have made excellent progress, so congrats for that !
