I apped for this card two days ago with 0/12, 5/24 and no previous relationship with us bank. I apped for their cash plus a year ago and got rejected, but I recall I was like 2 or 3 /12 at the time so didn't even bother calling their recon line. Got immediate rejection online. Didn't have too much of a hope overturning the decision through recon since I've read that AR can be hard to get without prior relationship, but I still feel like my profile is pretty good other than the history is short.
So I gave them a call yesterday, and the representative put my application on manual review and said it can be 2 to 3 days before a final decision. Exactly 1 hour after the first call, I got a call and the person on the line said everything looks good, but the system rejected the application because it thinks I had a typo in my email address, which I don't think I did. He just had me read my email address to him, and approved my application afterward.
Definitely a weird experience to get rejected because the system thinks there's something wrong with my email.
