All, while on a business trip last week I decided to respond to an email offer for the Explorer Visa with 50K sign-up bonus and got the 7-10 notice. I figured as much and the only report pulled was from Exp which is my worst file. I assumed it was a no go and I have enough CL anyway but really want this card. I have buying United flights using my Citi AAdvantage... very funny.
Today I get a letter to call them to verify the validity of this application. Is this a round about way for me to recon this and possibly convince them to pull the trigger? Anyone else have experience with such a notice. It was not a decline letter that I was expecting. Plan on calling in the morning to sort it out but would like advice on how to handle the conversation. Thanks, Barry

I am sure it's just to verify your ID. Most of the time it's something simple. Good Luck
Sounds like an easy approval
Good luck
I had to verify my address & DOB. 2 weeks after applying I was approved for 18,000.
Welcome to chase's backward ways of approving people. Had the same issue with my Marriott card. Called in, found out my DOB didn't match my CR. Verified over the phone approved. Call in prolly something really stupid on there behalf.

I went the same deal with a recent app with them.. simply had to call verification dept monday morning ( darn weekend app ) answered a few simple questions regarding my report to verify it was me that applied and they put in the app and approved..
I called and verified my identity and was approved for $5K limit. I was hoping for higher. Is there an underwriter number I can call to plead my case? I'm pleased for the approval and $5K is likely fine but some trips I book are in $10K total cost and will need to book across a couple cards. Thanks for the input everyone. -barry

Chase Recon Numbers are in the BDN Sticky. Keep in mind, reconning a CL with Chase 99.99% of the time is a hp
