Venture Approval

So I tried getting a CLI once again on my Cap 1 Playstation Visa, and was denied.  I've had the card for three years, and its still stuck at $1,500.

I then decided to test the (already well tested) theory of "Once you're in a bucket, Cap 1 doesn't like putting you into another bucket once your scores increase."  I check the prequal site, and for the first time ever I saw both the Venture and Venture One show up!

After some soul searching, deciding whether I wanted 12 months 0% intrests and no annual fee with a 20,000 mile bonus after $1,000, or 18%, $59 annual fee at 40,000 mile bonus after $3,000, I opted to go for the straight Venture.  Annual fee is waived for the first year, and I can always either PC to a VentureOne, or just combine the credit limit into my Quicksilver before the next annual fee hits.

Result?  Instant approval for $15,000 CL.

$3000 in three months is easy to hit, so that 40,000 miles will go towards my honeymoon costs!

I gotta freeze my reports now so I'm not tempted to keep applying elsewhere!   Three cards with ~$15K limit is way more than I need, not to mention all the little ones!

Re: Venture Approval

Thanks!

It's amazing how fast the time goes the closer to the day it gets...

Does anybody know if AU accounts count towards bonus spend? I can meet it just fine on my own, but she does half the shopping and other things, so that would be nice to hit the bonus quicker!

Re: Venture Approval

Spend on the count should count regardless of AU or not; it's all the same account

Re: Venture Approval

Congrats on the approval! I was just approved for the Venture last week. Also, I spoke with customer service and was told Authorized Users do, in fact, count toward the bonus spend.
