Followed OP procedure and called in today for CLI on my WF Microcenter card.
I shop there alot and like the instant 5% off at the register when using this card.
First tried to transfer my useless WF Bob's Furniture card's CL of 10K to this but was told that transfer of credit limit is not available on retail cards. I figured this would be the case but thought I'd try anyways.
Was going to ask for 10K but did not want to increase chance of HP so settled on 5K and was instantly approved. Orginal CL was $2,100
I have not received any HP alerts from anywhere just yet but it's only been an hour...
I want to get their Visa Sig card for the Cell Phone Protection but I'm in the middle of a re-fi...
I wonder if I should cancel or lower the Bob's card first to avoid a low SL due to max exposure???
Thanks to OP for this thread as it pushed me to get this CLI done with limited fear of a HP...

Congratulations on your CLI @raisemysc0re
Yes, as @nuohlac mentioned also, there is no way to request a CLI from WF on their website...it's all done over the phone.
@ccquest The Original SL on my CashWise was $5500 and it's been open 24 months exactly. Unfortunately, I don't remember the SL on the Rewards Signature...that account is 17 years old...suffice to say...it's been over 5 years that I can remember getting any luv on that card but didn't really care so much and without the option of proceeding online, I never looked back. This week I actually picked up the phone....Good Luck if you proceed.

Congrats @cashorcharge on the double cli's with Wells Fargo!! No small feat these days. Enjoy!!
Congratulations on your CLIs!!
I got an alert from CreditWise and WalletHub.
WF did a HP... ![]()
Shouldn't affect my ReFi but I might now have to explain the HP which might slightly delay closing...
Now, the question is do I call and Recon the CLI amount since the damage is already done?

Congratulations on your CLI! Good luck on your reconsideration.

No idea if it's possible or not, but would it be worth a shot calling the recon line and seeing if they can remove the HP? I've read it's a thing, but in this case it is semi-legitimate. Are you certain there wasn't any mention of it possibly being a HP during your call?

There was mention of it. The CSR stated that they could not move forward without my permission and understanding that a HP is a possibility. I hate it, but I can live with it. I just don't want to waste it at this point.
Possibly call and apply that HP to a Signature Visa app and a recon of the Microcenter CLI.

It's odd that the way it was explained to me was that the HP was not the first course of action, and only if the original request was not approved...then they would let you know about the HP. @raisemysc0re You mentioned that they did say it would be HP but then it didn't show up? Or at least until recently? Good luck!
