OP—Congrats! I had a similar experience with my Best Buy retail card that got upgraded to a Best Buy Visa. Account kept the same opening date as my original card. Great score OP!

Being that this card is basically backed by Citibank, and that letter is the same i got for my Sears upgrade to mastercard, it should remain with original account history, just the account number will change. Lol now ill have a 25k major

Interesting. I'm wondering if perhaps they're pushing this out to all their customers or at least a majority of them because my mom's Macys as well as my brother's got the same letter about the upgrade. Regardless, happy to see that it will not affect people's credit profiles.

I know i dont use mine often but when i do i pay in full so my account history is good with them. To think i started with $300 lol. Too bad Wally snd Sams never upgraded but again those WOULD be new accounts. Wish i could hsve gotten the mythical JC Penny MC, not that i need it.

Well that just figures! grrrrrrrrrr, I closed out both my $25k Macys, and $25k Blooms cards last month!!! I bet I would have gotten the upgrade....
