2 Synchrony questions - mobile app, and password complexity

Just as the title indicates - I have mobile banking apps for everything else, but I couldn't find anything on the Google Play Store.

Now that we're talking about it... am I going crazy or does Synchrony not allow complex passwords? I like to include varieties of upper and lower case letters, numbers, and symbols but it seems they don't allow symbols...

Yeah just seems kind of bizarre that in 2016 a financial institution would purposely limit the security of its customers passwords.

I can't seem to find any Synchrony app at all, which also seems funny. No mobile banking for them i take it?

You can use numbers, lower case, and upper case, but no symbols.  My 'usual' password has a symbol as well, but for all four of my Synchrony accounts I have to omit the symbol (yes, I realize I shouldn't use the same password over multiple sites).

I agree that it's surprising they have this limitation.  Smiley Frustrated

If you have the Sam's Club MasterCard, the mobile banking feature is integrated into the Sam's Club app; there is an app for Care Credit as well (although I don't have it).

With Care Credit, supposedly you can use the app in place of the card at a participating provider (but not Rite Aid) but I've not tried it (since I use the card only once or twice a year anyway).

As for my other two Synchrony cards, I've not tried to see if the Lowe's or Belk app incorporates the credit card like Sam's Club does, but it's likely that they might.  With those two accounts I prefer to access them on my PC since my phone is getting rather 'full' of apps.

Hope this helps!  Smiley Wink

+100

I'm exactly the same... also, FWIW the only times I've read about SNAFUs with the wrong payment account being used, etc. have been from folks using the mobile sites, i.e. 'fat fingering' the info.

I like using my laptop where I can make the text as large as I need to... Smiley LOL

My passwords are all "incorrect". That way, if I forget it, the computer tells me what it is "You're password is incorrect". Mind blown.

Re: 2 Synchrony questions - mobile app, and password complexity

Thanks everyone! Now that you mention it I probably do 99% of my management on the computer anyway, just kind of liked the idea of being able to quickly check things from the phone if needed.

Maybe I'll shoot an email to Synchrony asking them to allow symbols in the password too.

You guys just gave me an idea. If i only use my desktop PC to do banking logins i could use one of those password generators to make really long and ridiculous passwords that i don't know and store them on my encrypted USB stick for cut and paste login.

Hmm...
