Re: 7-10 day message on amex cli?

Eight months w/ no CLI love = no use.  It's not exactly retaliation tho b/c there are several reasons why I don't use the card.  I'm scared of util on the low cl, CB reporting timeframe, and unpredictable Amex in general.

Amex is my second lowest TL (Amex = 1k, Old Navy = 500).  My other major CCs are 6k, 5k, 5k, 4250, 3k, 1.5k and 1.1k.

I'm not so naive to think that b/c I want one, they should give me one; but things HAVE improved since I opened my account.  My letter listing reasons why I was denied said:

1. Card Member Risk Score too low
2. Consumer Score too low (around 656 now, was around 585 when I app'd)

They list 4 factors from Experian as:

1. Accts not paid as agreed (all over 3 years, yet still a justifiable reason)
2. Number of accts delinquent (whoops Sallie Mae from 2001 has 13 yuckies)
3. Length of time accts have been established (yup, 4 new ccs and 1 new car, 17.5yr oldest acct, 5yr avg)
4. Too many recent credit checks (yup again, 6 on EX, 4 within past 6 mo)

I hope this helps!

Re: 7-10 day message on amex cli?

Keep us posted WhirledPeasPlease. I am coming up on my 6 months in a couple weeks. I don't think I am brave enough to ask for a CLI even though my BofA has passed my Amex CL. Do they consider that?

Will do.  My BofA is 5x my Amex.  I really don't think it matters.  Smiley Happy

My next Amex statement is my 6th one, Amex is my lowest CL ($7.5K), I piff and my EX score has gone up 40-55 points since I applied.

And I am NOT going to hit the love button!!

I know it is soft - I just want a long term relationship with Amex.  If I have not got a CLI in a year or so I will do it
