A PC Amex Delta to BCE question

I can only find older threads and none answer my question so I apologize if redundant...

My 61x falls on March 13, and I've received my bonus miles etc so now I want to PC to BCE.  If I request the PC now and get it, will it affect my 61x, or should I wait until my CL request, or does that matter?  Can I PC now and keep my original 61x?

Thanks  Smiley Happy

It doesn't matter but you can only PC AF to AF or no AF to no AF within the first 13 months.

At least thats how I remember Amex PC policy.

Re: A PC Amex Delta to BCE question UPDATE - SUCCESS!

Thanbks Lexie.  Smiley Happy

And good grief Charlie Brown, I tried with 2 different chat reps and then called cust service and they all have said something along the lines of "since they (delta vs bce) are two different rewards programs that I would need to apply".  The phone rep was insistent but I was also insistent that this is possible as long as I am eligible and placed me on hold to check further, then transferred me to another dept (she stayed on the call in case I needed to "apply"  lol), who checked on my eligibility and BOOM!  I now have a BCE!  Yippee!

Them phone reps learn something new everyday.  Smiley Wink

It's AF to no-AF or no-AF to no-AF.

Re: A PC Amex Delta to BCE question

AF or not it shouldn't matter.  I actually chuckled when I read this thread.  Last night I called to get my Delta switched to a BCE, but it didn't work out that way.  I first asked them for a lower interest rate, which I got.  Since I had done that I couldn't switch to the BCE until the system updated.  I actually am now reconsidering it, since it might be better to switch to the BCP!  Even with the $75 AF it might be better to get the 6% on groceries and 3% on gas.  Something for me to think about over the next few days!

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.....
Always follow these rules: Only take a HP for a new account. Always use the best rewards card for that reward category. Don't close a card unless you know you really should. Never use more than 35% of a credit limit. Recon as much and as best you can. Use the introductory period to the best advantage. Get the signup bonus. Whenever possible PIF or balance transfer so you pay less in interest. Never give an excellent rating when it is actually the norm. Always look for a discount as more is always better.
Always accept candy from strangers because they have the best candy or from people you know have good candy.

Congrats!  Out of curiousity, how did you contact them and did you have the trouble I did getting through to a person who could handle it for you?

AF does matter due to the credit card act (if I have named that correctly?).  I don't have all the fact but from what I've read this act It controls how much AF we can be charged per year, which is why the 13 months.  You can go from AF to non-AF, or non-AF to AF.

Good luck with your BCP switch!

I contacted them through online chat. I first asked if I can product change to another Amex card and he went through the list of all the cards I can change to. Then I chose the BCE. It was no hassle and I will get my card in 7-10 days. The change is instant and he said I will receive the benefits as of today. It was really easy Smiley Happy
