AMEX 61 day CLI w/ initial CL of $15k - what to request?

What should I request at 61 days when my starting CL was $15k? While I was honest on my application, I don't want to go through any hassle of FR or the T-4506. Also, do you call in and request, or do something on the website to request a CLI? From what I gather, I can request up to $25k without providing additional documentation - is this right?

I thought the threshold was 35k, but I could be wrong. Anyone?

I did a 61 day 3X from 10k to 30k instantly. I just did a 180 day request this week from 30k to 35k and got a 4506t request. If you dont mind submitting the 4506-T, I would request the full 45k if your income and profile support it.

The question you really have to ask yourself is what CL do you want or need, and just request that. The income verification is a YMMV exercise.

*FACE PALM*... it's not a specific dollar amount that gaurantees it... my partner was FR'd with just $18,200 in CL over 2 cards... my father was NEVER FR'd and had over $68k in credit lines....

my friend just went to $32 or $34 (I posted somewhere) last month on his 62 day cli... i had him ask for the full amount online and it was instant with no counter!

i had another friend that asked for just shy of full amount at $29k or something ebcause he didn't feel right asking for $31k and some change and was instnatly countered back at $24k and some change.

I feel like your charging will get you FR'd long before asking for CLI's and if a CLI triggers a verification usually you can just ignore and they will just leave your cl where it was before the request.

Yes. Also, has anyone ever gotten FR'd from asking for a CLI? I thought 4506-T was the only thing to come fron CLI requests.

Re: AMEX 61 day CLI w/ initial CL of $15k - what to request?

Let me clarify my question. I meant T-4506, not FR. I know FR comes about from particular charging patterns and indications of false reporting on applications. I guess I'll just have to try my luck at whatever I feel comfortable with. Are there any suggestions as to what I should ask for?

Re: AMEX 61 day CLI w/ initial CL of $15k - what to request?

There is no fixed threshold of when AMEX will do FR/4506-T. It all varies. There are people who were asked to submit 4506-T even when their CLI request were below 10K.

Risk free way will obviously to not ask for CLI, if you don't want to spend the time to do FR. Frankly speaking 15K should be enough to cover all major expenses.

Re: AMEX 61 day CLI w/ initial CL of $15k - what to request?

As with most things Amex (or even credit) we don't know what triggers the 4506-T request.

Your current CL is $X.   You ask for an increase of $Y.   We don't even know if the value of Y matters.   It might be that any increase will trigger the request, or that anything up to 3x will be fine without a request, or, and this seems to be what people are asking about, is there a magic value of Y where below that you are OK and above not.

We really don't have evidence of that, and for every "I got one when I went from X to Y" there are examples where X to Y was fine.   So probably more to do with credit report and AMex history than actual values.

Another unknown is whether there is some negative impact if  you choose not to supply the form.  Yes, your CLI gets cancelled (although there have been reports of an auto-CLI soon after in one or two cases) but does Amex also mark you down as maybe having something to hide?   If not, just ask for 3x, and, if you don't want to provide the info, decline if asked.
