So I doubled my CL in late november.
Early dec I asked csr if i could apply and to my surprise he put in an app for CLI for me.
I was denied because i was supposed to wait 6 months...
but the rule is that you have to only wait 3 months after denial......
csr now says that i only have to wait 3 months from my dec denial. what do you guys think?

i think I never trust what a CSR says. Its pretty clear....91 days for the the 1st CLI, and then 6 mo after that for the 2nd.
But isn't it only 3 months after a denial?

if youre denied, youre denied. Doesnt matter when you reapply, but usually they say for better results give it 90-180 days after your denial. Even then, there is no gaurantee youll get it. Like everything else, will depend on your overall profile at the time. You have acquired a lot of new accts lately with decent CL's, so, Id sit back for awhile and garden those.
Since you doubled your CL in less than 3 months, are you constantly hitting $10K in usage with your card? Do you need higher than $10K? If this is your Costco TE, keep in mind they *may* not grant CLIs on a variety of accounts given the upcoming change with the Citi Costco portfolio.

Good point Fin!
The wait after a requested CLI denial is 90 days. If you're approved for a CLI you have to wait 6 months. In your case you have to wait 6 months after the CLI in November. The December atttempt was denied because you werent eligible but it doesn't restart the clock.

Nope, just trying to get opinions on what the CSR said (in my situation), and confirm the time frames for AMEX.
