I just hit the 6 month mark today from my last increase which was 2k to 6k. I just got off the phone with their automated system and recieved a 18k limit with out even talking to a rep. AMEX Loves me

Yeah you don't ever need to talk to rep for CLI. Some like to so no mistakes are made but unlike GE, Amex' system works well!!!
Congrats on the new line!
When you are getting love like that, you do not even care if AMEX cheats on you in the relationship
Thanks guys. Amex definately likes to show love. As long as she doesn't cheat on me and decrease my CL.
I forget. Can you get a CLI on the website with a soft pull?
Dang. Don't want to jack your thread, OP, but you inspired me to ask for more money. Upped my $8k limit to $11.3k
I asked for $16k, and they countered with that, but I'm happy. It's my first 5 digit line! I could backdoor, but I'll just leave it alone, as I'm pretty satisfied with it. The $8k was already my highest limit, with Discover being at $6.3k
Unfortunately, the itch is back. As it was, I only had 1 "new" account in the past 3 years, which was a backdated AMEX. So, it really wasn't a "new" account. I have no new accounts or inquiries showing in the past 2 years. I have to remain strong, now. But, I'll probably ask for an increase in my Blue Cash when I get home. I never use it, but the line is sitting at a piddly $3.5k.
AMEX only allows one CLI per six month period, across all cards. Thus, if you just got an increase on another card you won't be able to increase your Blue Cash for another six months.
If you have the itch perhaps you should look at another AMEX. While it will cost you a HP the account will be backdated. You might also end up with a CL much higher than the Blue Cash. My first AMEX was sitting at $3K when I was approved for a second card at $10K.
Nah, I'm not interested in applying for more credit right now. I only wanted a free CLI. I would call in and try to get the $16k I requested, but one of my cards is maxed out with a BT right now. It only puts my entire util at 19%, but I don't want to risk FR over something that is a want instead of a need.
Its no problem. I would call the back door number. Remember with Amex they are likely to approve 3 times your current CL with out asking for a financial review. Remember not to ask for more then 25k.
