Just open the mail and I have my Zync. I thought it had the chip for expresspay? If not how do I get it?

Re: AMEX Expresspay??

It should inside it. Does it have the expresspay logo by the signature strip?

Re: AMEX Expresspay??

No it doesn't have any logo near the signature strip. Did they not send me the expresspay card? Do I need to contact them to get one?

Re: AMEX Expresspay??

My new Blue Cash Everyday does not have one, when I called, they said there was a "security concern" with them and that they stopped sending them out.

Re: AMEX Expresspay??

It has alot to do with the RFID. Work like CAC cards. If some one is near with with a RFID scanner/reader, they can capture your info. Works the same as wi-fi catchers...

This is directly from Amex's website:

Q: What if I don’t see [expresspay logo] or [expresspay logo]  on the back of my Blue from American Express®, Blue Cash® from American Express, Blue Cash EverydaySM from American Express, Blue Cash PreferredSM from American Express, Blue SkySM from American Express, Blue Sky PreferredSM from American Express, Clear from American Express®, ZYNC from American Express®, Starwood Preferred Guest® Card from American Express?

A: Your Card does not have the expresspay chip. You can call the number on the back of your Card to request the expresspay feature.

I would say give them a call & I'm sure they'll get one with it out to you! I'm waiting for mine in the mail as well!! Smiley Happy

Re: AMEX Expresspay??

I had them send me about 5 cards without expresspay or with the wrong card (BCE not BCP) before they finally got it right. The last CSR I talked to had been there 6 years and knew the computer system well. She went into cardholder preferences and set expresspay to yes. The next card had it. My only gripe is that it shows up on your statement as "expresspay" not the name of the merchant. It downloads into excel/quicken that way too. I think the fact that it is an expresspay transaction is useful info but is secondary to the nam of the merchant. I bet if enough of us complain to them they'll fix it.

Re: AMEX Expresspay??

I can confirm if you call they will send you new one with chip in it.  I recently upgraded my original BC to BCE, and they sent me a new card...the new card had member since date on it (old one did not), however it did not have expresspay chip.  I called, she said she would overnight me one with expresspay chip - and voila I got one overnight with expresspay chip.  As previous posters have stated though, if you export your transactions or browse them or anything it will not list merchant name only say "expresspay" transation.  Because of this, it is possible (STRICTLY A GUESS ON MY PART) that these transactions do not count towards the selected categories of extra cash back or points due to merchants not listing.  THIS IS ONLY A GUESS ON MY PART.  I can only confirm it does not list names, a pain if you export to mint.com or something like that.

But anyway, end of rant, bottom line is it is optional on cards...will have no problem requesting it, but unless you specify otherwise it comes with no chip.
